Having moved to St. Paul, Minnesota from Washington, D.C., in July 2003, I am more than a little cold. But having taken a position as assistant professor in Hamline University's Graduate School of Education, my heart is warm, my intellect is exercised, and my passion for teaching and learning shines brightly. My professional and spiritual passions are equity and social justice in education. My goal is continual transformation within my Self, within our Schools, and within Society. In addition to my assistant professorship at Hamline University, I am the founder of EdChange, a coalition of educators and activists providing professional development on educational equity, building free resources for fellow educators and activists, and modeling a commitment to move beyond celebrating the joys of diversity and toward equity and social justice. Our newest project is Social Justice News Online, a web-based compendium of news articles from around the world related to social and environmental justice, human rights, and activism. More personally, I have two cats named Unity and Buster and I love them dearly.
